Design of Boxing Halls

When opening any gym, there are a number of questions that need to be answered before general construction and finishing work begins. Such questions include: designation of useful areas in the gym, filling them with equipment, storage of inventory, furniture for locker rooms, location of a boxing ring, lighting of the gym and the ring, safety and injury protection zones of each apparatus and equipment in the gym and other questions.  The distance from the ring to the walls may be at least 2 metres and from the spectators' seats at least 3 metres. The lighting of the ring may not be sidelights but shall be placed at the top of the ring at the height of 3.1 metres with a minimum illumination of 1,000 Lux up to the surface of the ring canvas. No blind spots or muars of light temperature difference are allowed. Each boxing apparatus has its own injury protection zones. Boxing equipment must also be stored in designated areas located both directly in the hall and in technical rooms outside the hall. The room should be well ventilated and the temperature in the gym should be 15-20°C. The lowest height to the ceiling should be 3.9 m and the minimum overall dimensions of the room should be 15 m by 14 m. Designing a hall takes into account the minimum set of mandatory equipment in a boxing room, taking into account injury safety standards: boxing ring, flooring and its zoning, the location of wall protectors and protectors on the columns, training equipment, areas for training, storage of equipment, areas with tatami, the location of furniture for changing rooms.
